Fraudulent Emails Impersonating thebookmarketer.pro
If you've received an unsolicited email claiming to be from TheBookMarketer.pro, please read the following information carefully.
We do not cold email authors!
Thebookmarketer.pro has never, and will never, contact authors out of the blue to pitch our marketing services. We do not send unsolicited emails offering book promotion, SEO, or website services based on a book you've published. If you received an email like this, it did not come from us, regardless of how convincing it looks.
What we're seeing
Scammers are currently impersonating our business (and others in the publishing space) by:
- Using AI to generate personalised pitches that reference your specific book, title, or genre
- Copying our name, branding, or website language to appear legitimate
- Offering marketing, editing, or promotional services and requesting payment upfront
- Using email addresses or domains that closely resemble ours, but are not ours
How to verify a genuine email from us
Genuine communication from thebookmarketer.pro will:
- Only ever follow contact you initiated through our website, a referral, or an existing working relationship
- Come from an address ending in @thebookmarketer.pro (always check the full domain carefully, not just the display name)
- Never pressure you to pay immediately or use urgency tactics
- Never ask for payment via gift cards, wire transfer to a personal account, or cryptocurrency
If you're ever unsure, do not reply to the email. Instead, contact us directly through www.thebookmarketer.pro using the contact details listed on our official site.
If you've received a scam email
- Do not click any links or attachments in the email.
- Do not send payment or personal/financial information.
- Report the email as phishing/spam through your email provider.
- Report the fraud to Action Fraud (UK) or your local equivalent.
